The heavy rains and the wind brought down the big banyan tree. The tree was very tall and big and was filled with leaves and branches. Even though there were other trees on the road which were weaker than this tree but only this tree fell. The falling of the tree became a reason for the conversation for the passerby’s. An old man who was listening to their conversation commented thus, “The tree fell because it was standing on weak soil and did not get enough support.”
Our house is the foundation for our existence. If we live in a house filled with sin, evil and faithlessness then we will not be able to survive in such an environment. If the foundation of our house is not based on prayer, faith and love we will not be able to sustain for long. And like the tree we too will fall one day and will never rise again.
We see people who suffer from poverty and sickness standing strong and being successful in their life later. They do not fall prey to sin and depression because they live an environment of prayers and lead a holy life. These are the families which emulates the Holy Family. Let us pray that our families too may be like the Holy Family never fall and let our foundation be God.
“You will know that your tent is secure; you will take stock of your property and find nothing missing” (Job 5:24).
