Our Heavenly Mother

Eve the mother of mankind became the mother of curse and death because of her disobedience. God in his abundant love for us gave another mother in her place; Mother Mary the mother of our savior. Mary was filled with the grace of God. She crushed the head of the serpent. She is the mother for all mankind. The Lord shares his love and mercy with us through her. Mother is always ready to intercede for us and share the gifts of heaven with us.

Intercession of Mary

The Scriptures says that Mary was present that day at the wedding at Canna along with Jesus and the disciples. Without anyone asking her to do so she comes to Jesus with the request and state of the family. ‘The wine is over’ is a strong statement of faith. And the words ‘do as he says’ is the conviction that the request will be fulfilled. Mary is a role model for those who trust in Jesus. The disciples believed because of the miracles but Mary believed even without miracles. The miracle happened at Canna was because of her faith and conviction. Her faith leads the faith of the Church.

Queen of Holy Rosary

The month of October is celebrated as the month of Rosary. When we pray the Rosary we walk the path of Mother Mary. Through these mysteries we embark on the pilgrimage with Mary. The Feast of the Holy Rosary was celebrated first by Pope St. Pius V. It was the continuous recital of the Rosary that protected millions of Christians from persecutions during the battle of Lepanto. The feast celebrated on 7th of October every year. Fr. Gabriele Amort an exorcist testifies thus, “during exorcism Satan said, “every Hail Mary recited is like a blow to my head. If every Christian knew this it would be the end of me.” This declaration and the verse from Genesis 3:15 confirm that Mary is indeed the one to crush the head of the Satan. When we pray the Rosary faithfully it helps us win over evil and a weapon against Satan.

Dominic Guzman, a Spanish priest, traveled into France preaching against the Albigensian heresy. In 1208, he went into a forest near Toulouse, France to pray, asking God to provide what he needed in order to overcome the Albigensian heresy. After three days of prayer and fasting, three angels appeared in the sky along with a ball of fire. When they disappeared, the Virgin Mary spoke, telling the priest that he must preach her Psalter in order to succeed in his struggle to overcome the Albigensians. The Catholics were able to rush upon the hung-over Albigensians, routing the enemy army and declaring a victory for Christ and Our Lady. After the battle, every Catholic in the area attributed the victory to the Rosary. Mother asked St. Dominic to pray for world peace and the conversion of sinners. She appeared in Lourdes and Fatima and made the same requests. In 1800 the city Pompeii received deliverance from the Satan worship by praying the Rosary. In 1945 when Hiroshima was struck by the nuclear bomb 8 priest devoted to the Holy Rosary and the place they lived in were miraculously saved. Sins, bad habits, addictions all these can be overcome by praying the Rosary leading to conversion. In her vision to St. Dominic she said, “My son Jesus has given the word that everyone who prays the Rosary will have the protection of the angles all times and at the hour of their death.

‘Mother’ the word most loved and sweet

The Rosary is the encapsulation of the mystery of salvation. the Hail Mary prayer is complete with, “And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favored, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women Luke 1:28 and Luke 1:42 and she speak out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. By adding Our Father and the Glory be to.. prayers to this we have received a beautiful prayer. The reciting of this prayer helps us to be rooted in our faith.

We have a sacred tradition of the solemn recitation of the holy rosary in the group of families and in the churches in the month of October. The month of October is a period for us, our state and the place we are in to receive blessings. Let us use this opportunity to grow in our faith by praying the Rosary fervently every day.
